It has been over a year since I last shared my thoughts here. I hope everyone is having a lovely 2016!

Last year was filled with majestic sights, numerous achievements, and opportunities to learn. What are you looking forward to this year?

As for me, a wonderful chance to mingle with like-minded people has come and brought joy, as well as knowledge and experience. Days may be longer than they used to be; however, relaxation always comes in a cup of tea.

Strawberry season has come.

Bread and dessert aisles are lined with pink-hinted confectionery, calling the attention of every sweet tooth. Strawberry fields host all-you-can-pick-and-eat events for children and adults alike.

How do you like your strawberries? Do you prefer to mix them with other ingredients to create desserts, or do you enjoy them plain and simple, with a dab of condensed milk or whipped cream on top? As for me, I believe that anything and everything strawberry could be delicious.

Strawberries, ice and whipped cream. Sweet, simple things are delightful in any season, at any time of the day.

A trip to Nissan Stadium in Shin-Yokohama on a holiday led us to witness this exquisite, delectable treat.

Above is a photo of a delicious Acai and Blueberry Yogurt Float from First Kitchen in Venus Fort, Odaiba.

It is a wonder that even in autumn, and with the fact that winter is coming, iced desserts can still be enjoyed. Do you also like drinking or eating cold treats despite the chilly weather?

Pictured above is one of my early autumn coordinates. Dressing up is simpler when it is warm. Now that winter is fast approaching, bodies are clad in multiple pieces of thick clothing. Still, some do not fail to be creative.

How do you keep yourself warm in this freezing weather?

Above are photos of tsukemen, cold noodles dipped into a rich, hot soup served with toppings of vegetables, meat and egg on the side. It offers a more active way of eating noodles as opposed to ramen, in which everything is already inside the soup bowl, don't you think?

After having tasted it at Shin-Yokohama and Kurihama in summertime, I found myself preparing it at home for dinner. What other "dipping foods" do you know of?

Another year to celebrate life, another year to be grateful.

Countless presents have been received and the heart is brimming with joy. There is a gift of home, of smiles, of pleasure. A gift of autumn--and soon, a gift of winter. There were colorful gifts, while some were white and plain, just how I fancy them. There were scrumptious treats and delightful travels. I am exceedingly thankful to the Almighty God for all these and more.

The most splendid is the gift of love. The gift of you.

The change of seasons entails a renewal of one's closet. Above is one of the coordinates I fancied the most in summer.

Recently, with the coming of autumn, I looked up fashion blogs and websites on the internet and visited several shopping malls, searching for a distinct fall/winter style that I can call my own. The cold weather necessitates the wearing of indispensable accessories, as well; these include shawls or scarves, ponchos, leg warmers, and gloves.

Seeing oneself wearing an entirely different set of clothes from the ones often worn is a fantastic experience. What are your autumn and winter styles?

Traveling from one place to another by train and visiting famous spots are two of my newly-acquired hobbies. There is truly much to see in Tokyo and its many districts, especially in summer when most shopping malls and restaurants offer various promotions.

From Shibuya to Ikebukuro in one day, we paid Hachiko a visit, dined at several themed cafes, passed by Shibuya 109 fashion mall, took a rest in front of the Animate building in Ikebukuro, and even saw a gigantic Ultraman statue on the way home.

Crowds trod on the streets under the midsummer sun. There are many interesting sights to behold.

The resident cat Nini has survived a recent surgery. She is now healthy and still exceptionally energetic despite her age.

Nini is fond of taking strolls around my aunt's house any time of the day. She takes delight in being petted and cared for. At times, she would peacefully sit in front of the window and gaze at the clear skies; yet some days, she likes to play hide-and-seek with Riki.

Do you have a unique family member like her?

How are you today?

Recently, we have been shopping at grocery stores twice or thrice a week. Since various commodities are available, I sometimes purchase sweets.

Among Japanese sweets, I have tried dango--they are truly delicious!

Dango may come in different kinds; however, I find it most delightful to eat the ones with red bean paste on top.

One day, after Riki's class, we went to a nearby park where he met three new friends. They spent most of their time at the playground, trying all the fun rides, before playing hide-and-seek.

The best days are those sunny ones with calm, refreshing breeze, best enjoyed with a great view.

A peaceful morning greeted the household the next day. We saw Riki off to school very early before resuming our rest.

For a week, Riki would arrive in the afternoon and immediately enjoy playing ball games with me. Afterwards, I would guide him in doing his homeworks; he would get most of the questions right by himself!

Upon coming home, we dined at a sushi restaurant. Ordering was made truly convenient by the use of a touchscreen device. In addition, diners can also freely take plates from the conveyor belt.

Lively talks with family over delicious food made coming home exceptionally delightful.

こんにちは!
お元気ですか?今日は良い一日でしたか?
時には、最も単純な物によって良い日になります。
たとえば、 素敵な鏡を見つければ…

Good afternoon. How are you? Are you having a good day?

At times, even the simplest things can turn any day into a good one. Finding an elegant mirror, for instance.

The second half of the current year has opened its doors.

As we go further into the journey--with innumerable activities and preparations--it is great to sit down with family and celebrate the achievements so far, and thank the Lord for the blessings, over scrumptious food in a remarkable place close to home.

The most delicious cake is one that bears all the different tastes, delicately blended to create a mild flavor.

Sweet and salty is its cheesecake, topped with the sourness of blueberries. It is delightfully nestled in a crunchy graham crust, while the plate is drizzled with dark chocolate syrup.

Do you enjoy eating cakes too? What flavors suit your taste?

The cherry blossoms have started blooming and with it, Prince Riki begins his journey through elementary school. He seems exceedingly ready to make new friends and gain more knowledge about the world around him. What adventures await our brave and active prince?

Discovering a themed cafe in Manila is similar to unearthing a precious gem. They may be very rare, but are always worth the search.

This movie-themed cafe features numerous monitors airing various TV channels, movie and TV memorabilia, as well as cosplayers portraying well-loved characters from famous movies. Aside from dancing on stage, they also interact with guests which made our visit an exceedingly entertaining one.

Weekend afternoons are best enjoyed with teas and scones.

I requested for a black tea with a hint of strawberry and their expert recommended the Happy Hour variant. Its sweet aroma was certainly soothing, and I was more than pleased by its delicate taste.

The luxurious interior complemented with rejuvenating classical music made our stay exceedingly worthwhile. Thank you for the fancy meal, TWG.
