Brimming with creativity, Tokyo has quite a number of themed cafes located in its major districts. Seasons before coming home, I made a list of all the unusual dining locations that I wish to visit.

Most of these cafes represent the otome lifestyle--that of a maiden who enjoys afternoon teatime and good food, curious and innocent, yet adventurous enough to immense herself in fresh ideas in order to flourish. Thus, otome delight returns to its spotlight.

The first themed restaurant we dined at was Shibuya's "Alice in Dancing World". Going down the staircase, one is greeted with lavishly decorated walls, couches and tables. Fairytale music serenades the diners as they feast on Alice in Wonderland-inspired food and drinks.

Dressed as the fairytale's main characters, the staff are all courteous and helpful. Although lunch menus are served, dinnertime is a more delightful experience as original cocktails and appetizers are available at night.

Would you be interested to go down the rabbit hole as well?
